Cairns Esplanade.

The Cairns Esplanade is one of the most visited and important areas of Cairns. The Esplanade area has been an important point for locals and visitors in Cairns city since the city was founded in the late 1800s.

Cairns Esplanade attracts locals and visitors with recreational and leisure pursuits, whether walking, jogging, cycling, a picnic, swimming or birdwatching you will find many ways to enjoy the beauty of the Cairns Esplanade.

The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon.
This 4800 sq metre salt water swimming pool offers Cairns visitors swimming all year round. The Lagoon offers a sandy beach area which offers spectacular views of the Carins foreshore. You will also find shady areas to escape the sun and parts of the lagoon are shallow and prefect for small children.

The Lagoon is also home to a Kiosk & Amenities Building, BBQ's & Picnic Tables and Lifeguards who patrol the Lagoon from 6:00am to 10:00pm from October to March and 7:00am to 9:00pm April to September.

Muddy's Playground
Muddys is a new and exciting children's playground with a Trinity Bay theme. The playground includes water play areas and a variety of interactive and educational custom designed play equipment.

Fogarty Park
Fogarty Park is a large park area with a stage for concerts, events and performances. The seating capacity of the area is over 6,000 people. The area is also a nice place to escape the more crowded areas of the Cairns Esplanade and to enjoy some peace and tranquility only 1 block area from Cairns CBD area.

Harbor Walk
The Harbor Walk area is a great place to enjoy a water front walk while admiring the amazing views of the Cairns foreshore and city. Be sure to also check out the marina if you are a boat lover.

The Esplanade Markets
The Esplanade Markets are held on Saturday from 8.00am to 5.00pm near the lagoon. You will find a wide variety of local products including jewelry, woodwork, pottery, clothes and much more.
