Cairns Jockey Club.

The Cairns Jockey Club in located at Cannon Park, Mulgrave Road, Woree. The Cairns Jockey Club was started in July 1884 with 50 members, shortly after this the first Cairns race meeting was held.

The Cairns Jockey Club races 12 times a year with the feature race day the Cairns Cup which is held in August each year, the Cairns Cup has been an annual event since the early 1900's. The other major race event held in September each year is the Cairns Amateurs which is regarded as Far North Queensland major race event.

The Cairns Greyhound Racing Club is also found at Cannon Park and they conduct approx 40 race meetings a year.
