Cairns Taipans.
The Cairns Taipans are a Cairns based Basketball
team who play in the Australian National Basketball League. The
Taipans are named after a venomous snake which is found in Australia
and there home court is located at the Cairns Convention Centre.
Entering the Australian National Basketball
League in 1999 the team has no NBL championships but has played
in NBL finals in 2003/04, 2005/06, 2006/07 and in 2006/07 the
Cairns Taipans finished the season with a 17 - 16 record and a
sixth place finish.
