Port Douglas Schools.
 Port
Douglas and Northern Queensland are to a variety of primary and
secondary schools and English language schools. In nearby Cairns
you will also find the Tropical North Queensland Institute of
TAFE and the James Cook University.
In Port Douglas and Queensland the school
year consists of two semesters and runs from late January to mid
December. There are two terms in each semester and holiday breaks
for Easter, winter and spring.
In Port Douglas and Queensland it is law for
children between the ages of 6 and 15 to attend school. Primary
school covers years 1 to 7 and Secondary school covers years 8
to 12.
